Meet Dr. Pallavi PatriDr. Pallavi Patri is a Nephrologist (Kidney specialist) with almost 20 years of experience in this field. She practices at and heads the Nephrology, Dialysis and Kidney Transplantation Unit at Sparsh Hospital

She completed her MD from Mount Sinai School of Medicine, New York, USA in 2000 and went on to obtain her Internal Medicine Residency training and Fellowship training in Nephrology, Kidney Transplantation and Hypertension from Weill Cornell Medical College. She has an active American Board of Internal Medicine – Nephrology certification and continues to have an affiliation with Weill Cornell Medical College in New York.
Dr. Pallavi Patri’s areas of interest include electrolyte disorders, acute and chronic kidney disease, hemodialysis, peritoneal dialysis and kidney transplantation. She collaborates with other subspecialities to manage kidney stone disease and difficult to control hypertension. Her training at Weill Cornell Medical College-New York Presbyterian Hospital (NYPH Cornell) and Memorial Sloane Kettering Hospital have given her substantial experience in managing kidney disease in the medical, surgical and cardiothoracic ICU and in the highly subspecialized field of kidney conditions that arise in cancer patients. At NYPH Cornell, a high-volume kidney transplant center, she was involved in the management of complex kidney transplant cases including ABO incompatible transplants, highly-sensitized recipients, second and third transplants and swap transplant cases and continues to manage these type of cases in her current role at Manipal Hospital with excellent outcomes. Dr. Pallavi Patri also has a keen interest in promoting Peritoneal Dialysis – a home dialysis modality. She has established a Peritoneal Dialysis (PD) program at Manipal-Sarjapur through which patients are educated, initiated and supported on PD.
Apart from her primary position at Manipal Hospital, Dr. Pallavi Patri has several other academic and charitable pursuits. She offers pro-bono Nephrology support to Sri Sathya Sai Sarala Memorial Hospital in Muddenahalli (a large teaching institute providing multidisciplinary care completely free of cost to patients) and is the founding Trustee of The Beanstalk Foundation (a medical trust that provides financial support for underprivileged patients requiring kidney related procedures). I would have given 10 stars to Dr Pallavi. Both me and my wife have been patients of Dr. Pallavi for more than 6 years now. She supported us throughout—before, during, and after our transplant. Dr. Pallavi has been much more than a doctor to both of us, probably a "health mentor" through all these years. While Dr. is excellent from a clinical standpoint, more impressive is her ability to listen to the patient and engage in a very pleasant and positive conversation to ensure that the (already tense) patient is at ease.
